MechE Mentor  STEM Tutoring

Developing the engineering mindset - confident, independent,

critical thinking.

About

About Me, Mitchell Marrs

With experience as a Mechanical Engineer and Pre-Engineering Instructor, I am passionate about offering STEM tutoring for Middle School, High School, and University, with mentorship for Mechanical Engineering students.

I credit part of my unique understanding of Physics to my instruction by an actual engineer. Now I'm looking to provide this opportunity for others. My goal is to inspire and guide students in their STEM journey, helping them build strong foundations in applied mathematics to achieve academic success, all while developing a critical mind.

So why me? I understand the position students are in, and I have a unique perspective to help them reach their goals. Here are some of my accomplishments that will benefit students.

In high school:

  • I made perfect scores in ACT/SAT math;

  • Tested out of 24 hours of Physics, Chemistry,
    and Calculus via AP exams; and

  • Graduated valedictorian and was waitlisted at MIT

At University:

  • I attended OU on a State Regents’ academic scholarship;

  • Earned internships with some of the largest local and global energy companies during my summers; and

  • Graduated as a Mechanical Engineering major with distinction in only 3 years.

In my first year of teaching at CVTech Pre-Engineering Academy, after revamping the Physics curriculum, my senior class surpassed both the state and global averages on their AP exams. The following year, we qualified and earned an invitation to VEX Robotics World Championships in Dallas, TX.

With MechE Mentor, I’ve expanded my teaching offerings to follow students into university. I became a standout in my student career; now let’s help your scholar stand out in theirs.

1

Middle School

These sessions focus on foundational concepts and problem-solving strategies.

8th-grade Science is often when Physics is first introduced, and

thus the first opportunity to build

a strong foundation in applied mathematics.

2

High School

Physics and Chemistry are the subjects of focus at this level, as they are the building blocks of Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer. The goal here is to deepen one's understanding of applied mathematics, passing the AP exams and testing out of these courses.

3

University

Mentorship is available for Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering students. This includes tutoring in Physics, Chemistry, Statics, Dynamics, and Thermodynamics, along with guidance in navigating engineering curriculum, drafting cover letters, writing and building resumes, and internship acquisition.
