I had Mitchell as a tutor this past spring semester, and he helped me with four different courses: CAD, Physics, Calculus II, and Statics. I highly recommend him because he significantly improved my understanding of the material far more than I was getting from my professors in class.
I especially have to credit him for my passing grade in Physics because I honestly do not think I would have passed the course without his help. During our sessions, he explained topics clearly and even introduced additional concepts and knowledge that were never covered in class, which helped the material make much more sense overall. Having access to that extra information gave me a much deeper understanding of the subjects I was taught this past semester.
He's also very patient and was able to make difficult material "stick" in a way that my professors could not. On top of all that, he made learning genuinely enjoyable and fun. It felt more like I was studying with a friend who had foreknowledge of the subject at hand and knew how I would learn and understand everything rather than an instructor that makes difficult material seem easier than it is due to their experience in the subject. I have no complaints.

Mr. Marrs was a phenomenal teacher to have both inside, and outside of the classroom. I had him for AP Physics, and not only did he make physics stick, but he made my understanding of how I thought I learned best shift entirely. Now—even before asking one of my current professors for help if I’m not understanding something in my Electrical Engineering studies—I look back on what/how I learned in his classroom: study hard (read, watch, everything), learn how and why material I’m learning works, then apply it, apply it, apply it.
If I was to summarize some of the best individual aspects of Mr. Marrs and what he brings to the table, I’d say this:
He doesn’t want to see you fail. It’s not to make him look good, it’s not in the money, he genuinely cares about you and your future once he works with you. Next, he’s a genuinely brilliant person both academically and in day-to-day. I’ve got knowledge on cars, computers, budgeting, dieting, and even social advice to add onto my academics from him alone. Lastly, he’s a fantastic talker and lecturer. Whether you’re having a pleasant conversation with him, or whether he’s sitting there talking at you for an hour about STEM subjects: you WILL walk away with a wealth of new academic knowledge, a life lesson or two, and a mean joke to steal and take to your friends.
Mitchell is an excellent selection for individuals desiring to be guided by a man with the ability to elevate students into their highest capacity. Mitchell displays a stunningly unique ability to actually mentor those hoping to grow in their mathematical/scientific understanding.
Asa formerly trained Jim Knight - Instructional Coach, I still recall the moments I was able to observe Mr. Marrs implementing his very professional and highly effective methods of assisting learners who are privileged enough to have found him.
